The School

The post holders will sit within the School of Science Technology and Health, which hosts a number of well-established Nursing and Allied Health pre-registration programmes both at undergraduate and accelerated Masters levels. 

The School is committed to growing our healthcare related provision and Midwifery is one of a number of new programme areas currently under development to enhance the portfolio further.

The Role

We are seeking 2 enthusiastic and inspiring midwifes to join us and be responsible for facilitating teaching, learning, and assessment across the midwifery program.

The ability to supervise dissertations at BSc level is also expected. The successful candidate will be expected either to be research active in their subject specialism or have an interest in becoming research active as part of their development.

Required Skills and Experience

You must be registered with the NMC as a midwife, with up-to-date professional registration and have evidence of current professional development activity.

You must hold a Masters degree (or be prepared to undertake one), and have current expertise in contemporary midwifery practice, policy and professional standards as well as the theories and concepts that underpin midwifery practice and education. 

Clinical experience and qualifications in Newborn and Infant Physical Examination (NIPE), Professional Midwifery Advocacy (PMA) and Addition care/complexities in the newborn, woman/birthing person are desirable.

The selection process will include a 45 minute interview and a 10 minute presentation. Further details will be provided if you are shortlisted for interview.
