The Team

The Estates Management & Development Directorate encompasses a broad range of responsibilities across five service areas, including Timetabling and Specialist Technicians, Campus & Residential Services, Grounds & Gardens, Engineering, Compliance & Sustainability, and Projects & Operations.

The Role

As one of four Heads of Service within the Directorate, in this role we are looking for an experienced senior estates and facilities professional.  

The role is diverse and interesting, including oversight of committed teams across Operations, Construction projects, Space Management and Maintenance Services functions.  You will manage key strategic projects, oversee design solutions, ensure that the estate is well maintained and efficiently utilised.  We have a strong record of environmental improvements led from the Directorate across the wider University which will require continuing leadership from this postholder.  

Required Skills and Experience

You will require established project management, reporting and planning skills.  We are open to candidates from a range of disciplines and professional backgrounds who have a thorough working knowledge of buildings, construction and building engineering sufficient to engage professionally with colleagues, consultants and partners.
