Category : Applying for a role and information about the recruitment process

Answer :

The recruitment process for all vacancies begins with a shortlisting exercise where the panel will review your application to assess how fully you meet the requirements of the role.

If your application is successful at the shortlisting stage, you will be invited to attend an interview, where we can get to know you and learn about the skills and any experience you have in more detail.  The interview is also a great opportunity for you to ask us any questions in relation to the role or about York St John University more generally.  Often the interview will include a tour of our campus enabling you to see the environment in which you would be working.

For some roles the recruitment process may involve an additional exercise, such as a presentation or assessment. We always notify you of this in advance so that you are able to prepare.

The panel would use the evidence obtained through the interview and any additional exercises to identify the successful candidate.  The successful candidate would then be offered the role subject to a number of pre-employment checks.
