A team of 24 of the core construction trades work closely with Estates to keep the University teaching areas up to standard along with the daily reactive works reported by staff and students.</p><p style="margin-left:0cm;"><strong><u>The Role</u></strong></p><p style="margin-left:0cm;">Reporting to the Maintenance manager you will be required to carry out a variety of general Joinery tasks on our estate, including 1<sup>st</sup> and 2<sup>nd</sup> fix refurbishment, repairs and alterations to existing joinery, lock installation and repairs, manufacture of bespoke joinery products such as doors, windows, mouldings etc and some general building tasks. As part of a multi skilled team you may also be required to work across trades from time to time to assist other members of the team. The work will be across student accommodation and university teaching spaces. Prioritizing your work daily that is issued through the Archibus system you will have autonomy to gather quotes for materials which Estate&rsquo;s admin will order or order yourself direct from University suppliers.</p><p style="margin-left:0cm;"><strong><u>Required skills and experience&nbsp;</u></strong></p><p style="margin-left:0cm;">The successful candidate will hold an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent and will have served a recognized apprenticeship, be able to demonstrate good all-round competence and experience of working safely on a wide range of building types, be physically fit, able to work at height and be able to undertake all relevant tasks safely</p><p style="margin-left:0cm;"><strong><u>Additional information</u></strong></p><p style="margin-left:0cm;">For informal enquiries please contact Steve Precious on 07852527906</p><p data-pasted="true">Unfortunately this role is not eligible for Skilled Worker Visa sponsorship however we welcome your application if you are able to evidence right to work in the UK via an alternative route.</p><p>It is anticipated that the selection process will include an interview. As part of a multi-skilled team you may also be required to work across trades from time to time to assist other members of the team. The work will be across student accommodation and university teaching spaces.
