The Role

Full time, for a fixed term period ending 31st July 2019

We require an enthusiastic and dynamic individual to join the Higher York team as part of the HEFCE funded National Collaborative Outreach Programme (NCOP).

NCOP aims to identify and address issues around progression in to higher education.  In particular, it seeks to undertake outreach activity in specific local areas where HE participation is low overall and lower than expected given GCSE attainment levels.

You will be passionate about working with young people and improving access to higher education. You will also be experienced in developing and delivering outreach activity that engages students, schools, colleges and communities.  A strong team player, you will also be effective at event management and working in partnership with others.

The post will be based at York St John University but will require the holder to work on a flexible basis, including travel to alternative locations and some evening/weekend work. The Hub Officer will be responsible for outreach in our Selby, York, Harrogate and Skipton wards.

In addition to a competitive salary and the opportunity to work at our beautiful campus in the heart of York, YSJ employees enjoy access to a superb range of benefits including –

  • Generous annual leave entitlement (plus additional leave days during our Christmas closure period)
  • Pension scheme
  • Health cash plan
  • Training and development
  • Discounts at a wide range of high street brands and local companies, including shops, cinemas and gyms.

We welcome all applicants and particularly people from minority ethnic backgrounds as they are underrepresented within the university.

Please note that CVs are not accepted in place of the application form.
