The Team

This is an exciting time to join the team as we grow our Nursing and Allied Health offer here at York St John. We have a long history of offering Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy programmes, and over the last few years we have welcomed Adult Nursing and Mental Health Nursing BSc, Paramedic Science, and we are introducing Language and Speech Therapy, Diagnostic Radiography, Midwifery and Operating Department Practice.  We are in the process of building the second phase of our new Nursing and Allied Health Facility, including operating department, midwifery, MRI and X-Ray facilities that will open in September 2025.  

The Role

You will join the Specialist Technical team, providing dedicated support and specialist facility management to the Nursing and Allied Health suite of programmes. Working closely with the academic team you will be required to have a constant overview and maintain the specialist environments and equipment within the facility. You will also be expected to oversee key aspects of simulated activities and in lesson support as directed by the academic team, engaging with students to help facilitate their learning. 

Required skills and experience

The successful candidate will have experience of supporting the management of resources and equipment. We are looking for someone with excellent interpersonal skills and experience of previously working in a higher education and/or health profession is desirable but not essential.

It is anticipated that the assessment process will include an interview and a 10 minute presentation on the topic 'What skills and experience can you bring to the role?'. This presentation is where you will have the opportunity to apply your skills and experience to the role of a technician facilitating health programs.
