The Role

Ambitious, inclusive and responsive to change, York St John University is an empowering place to learn and a rewarding place to work.  We're looking for a creative, experienced Communications and Events Coordinator to join the London Campus and wider Communications Team at our award-winning University. You’ll join a busy, purposeful environment, where student feedback places us in the top 20 UK universities in this year’s National Student Survey and International Student Barometer. 

By understanding our audiences, you’ll identify the best ways to promote our achievements, highlight our community contribution and showcase our research influence. In addition to working on internal communications, external media relations and campus events, you’ll play a key role in enhancing communications to that ensure students feel heard, supported and informed.  

We’re looking for: 

  • A skilled communications and events professional with a talent for shaping clear messages and writing compelling copy for diverse audiences across multiple platforms.  

  • The ability to work across external and internal communications and events by building and maintaining relationships with media contacts, community partners and external stakeholders, as well as with our staff and students. 

  • A creative and engaging approach to coordinating and delivering student communications and events. 

  • Experience of the higher education environment is an advantage, but more important is a strong track record of delivering engaging communications activity, campaigns, and events with the confidence and ability to provide strategic advice to colleagues.

It is anticipated that the selection process will include a presentation and interview.
